Joel H. Thornton
Biography


Joel H. Thornton, a Georgia attorney, has practiced law across the United States and in Europe. Former counsel for American Center for Law and Justice (the premier Christian religious liberties firm), Joel now serves as the president and general counsel for the International Human Rights Group, which protects religious liberties and human rights worldwide. His courtroom experience has taken him before the US Supreme Court, numerous federal and state courts, a variety of city and county commissions, and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.

 

Joel earned his bachelor’s degree at Berry College in Rome, George, and a Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University. His expertise has granted him numerous television and radio appearances as he discusses religious liberties in America and Europe.

His first novel, Southern Justice, is in pre-release from Tate Publishing, which anticipates a national distribution the first week of June, 2008.  Joel is currently working on his second novel as well as several white papers on international human rights.
